DJN Director
Liz Stelloh is the Director of Discovery Job Network (DJN). Liz brings a strong business background and leadership skills to the role, with experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Her professional life also includes extensive office administration, marketing communications, and she has been a volunteer coordinator for schools and charitable organizations.
In 2007, Liz came to DJN as a job seeker. She worked with Karen Leddy, the program's director at the time. She undertook an active role in the organization and assisted Karen during meetings. Liz used her e-mail service to write application letters for a number of suitable job opportunities, as other responsibilities drew her away from the job search.
In the summer of 2008, Liz switched her Internet service provider and e-mail program, and when she did, several messages she composed the previous year, which had never been sent because of technical problems, finally reached their destinations. One of them was an e-mail to Karen at Discovery Job Network, which had Liz's resume attached. When Karen received the resume, she thought Liz was applying for a job, so they visited and discussed an opportunity at DJN. About six months later, Karen decided to step down, and with God's guidance, Liz became the program's new Director.
Discovery Job Network launched a new website in May 2009 to better serve job seekers. As site administrator, Liz directs volunteers in maintaining up-to-date content. DJN welcomes constructive suggestions about content and calendar updates. With assistance from volunteers including Deacon Bob Cropp, Jim McCormack, and other human resource professionals, DJN instructs job seekers in all aspects of the employment search, from resume writing and interviewing to presenting a polished, professional appearance.
